Nine core programmes run through the academic year in every Junior Red Cross unit across Kannur District, alongside three state-certified grade examinations.
The nine core programmes

First aid training
Hands-on CPR, wound dressing, and fracture stabilisation. Emergency response drills run on school premises.
- 02
Health & hygiene awareness
Handwashing drills, seasonal epidemic awareness for dengue and malaria, and school water quality checks.
- 03
Road safety awareness
Traffic rules and pedestrian safety, taught for the roads cadets and their neighbours actually use.

Blood donation camps
District-level voluntary donation drives, coordinated with Kannur blood banks and hospitals.

Free medical camps
No-cost check-ups organised for rural areas and villages across the district.
- 06
Cleanliness drives
Campus sanitation, plastic-free campaigns, waste management, and tree plantation.

Disaster preparedness
Drills tailored to Kannur’s coastal and flood-prone zones, with first-responder training for senior cadets.

Organ & eye donation awareness
Pledge awareness sessions run with district health authorities.

Supporting differently abled
Inclusive assistance, community care, and accessibility support for differently abled students and citizens.
