What a cadet actually does
A Junior Red Cross cadet learns basic life-saving skills, participates in community service, and promotes health and safety. They train to become responsible, compassionate helpers who assist during school or local emergencies.

The district unit runs a live requirement board and a standby donor registry across Kannur Town, Thalassery, Taliparamba, Payyanur and Iritty. It is open to everyone, cadet or not.

Any high school or higher secondary school in Kannur District can register a Junior Red Cross unit. A teacher coordinator signs up, and the district office does the rest.
